Since March 2016, MSI’s Gulf Policy Working Group (GPWG) has convened quarterly to discuss the most critical and complex strategic challenges facing the United States and its Gulf Arab partners. The GPWG is a nonpartisan Washington platform for impactful and constructive debate on US-Gulf affairs, with a select membership comprising thought leaders and practitioners from both the United States and the region. The GPWG has hosted distinguished guests from the public policy and expert communities of the United States and the Arab Gulf region to speak on the evolution of the Iran-Saudi Arabia regional power struggle; the US-GCC summit action plans; the crisis in Yemen; implications of the presidential transition for Gulf policy; and the GCC political crisis.
