British Foreign Secretary David Milliband responded to increasingly gloomy predictions concerning the fate of Afghanistan by declaring the NATO campaign there a “mission possible.”

In a piece for The Times, Milliband argues that the Coalition’s goal to promote development and infrastrucure by creating a secure space “within which Afghan institutions can become strong enough to resist the Taliban” is perfectly achievable.
