Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security

The Atlantic Council’s flagship International Security Program was relaunched as the Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security in September 2012. The Scowcroft Center continues the Council's long-standing focus on NATO and the transatlantic partnership, while also studying 'over the horizon' regional and functional security challenges to the United States, its allies, and partners.

The Scowcroft Center works collaboratively with the Council's other regional and functional programs to produce analysis with a global perspective. The Center will honor General Brent Scowcroft’s legacy of service and embody his ethos of non-partisan commitment to the cause of international security, support for US international leadership in cooperation with allies and partners, and legacy of mentorship to the next generation of leaders.

Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East

The Atlantic Council's Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East brings North American and European voices together with experts from the Middle East, fostering a policy relevant dialogue about the future of the region at a historic moment of political transformation. The Hariri Center provides objective analysis and innovative policy recommendations regarding political, economic, and social change in the Arab countries, and creates communities of influence around critical issues.

Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center

The Atlantic Council officially launched its Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center at its Distinguished Leadership Awards dinner on May 1, 2013. Founded with a $5 million gift from top philanthropist and business leader Adrienne Arsht, the Center will forge a new partnership among Latin America, North America, and Europe based on common values and shared interests. The Arsht Center will be the first organization of its kind dedicated to strengthening this trilateral partnership. Using original research, analysis, and engagement with policymakers, media, and corporate and civil society leaders, the Arsht Center will examine priority issues that highlight Latin America as both a strategic and economic partner of North America and Europe, including, among others: trade and investment, natural resources and energy, security, democracy and human rights, and developing human capital and entrepreneurship.

Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center

The Atlantic Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center fosters dialogue among regional leaders, as well with counterparts from key neighbors and global leaders. Combining in-depth understanding of Eurasia's history with expertise on politics, economics and energy, the Center provides distinctive research and advice to governments and businesses worldwide. It seeks to promote an agenda of regional cooperation and integration based on shared values and common interest in a free, prosperous, and peaceful future. The Center’s collaborative approach aims to catalyze local, regional, and global strategies to address economic growth, deal more effectively with political issues, and bring about energy development and trade in ways that reinforce economic and political well-being.

South Asia Center

The South Asia Center serves as the Atlantic Council's focal point for work on greater South Asia as well as its relations between these countries, the neighboring regions, Europe, and the United States. It seeks to foster partnerships with key institutions in the region to establish itself as a forum for dialogue between decision-makers in South Asia, the United States, and NATO, and continues to “wage peace” in the region. These deliberations cover internal and external security, governance, trade, economic development, education, and other issues. The Center remains committed to working with stakeholders from the region itself, in addition to partners and experts in the United States and Europe to offer comprehensive analyses and practicable recommendations for policymakers.

Africa Center

The Africa Center was established in September 2009 with a mission to help transform US and European policy approaches to Africa by emphasizing the building of strong geopolitical partnerships with African states and strengthening economic growth and prosperity on the continent. The Center seeks to engage and inform both policymakers and the general public of the strategic importance of Africa, both globally and for American and European interests in particular, through programs and publications as well as a robust media presence. Within the context of the Atlantic Council’s work to promote constructive US leadership and engagement in international affairs based on the central role of the Atlantic community in meeting the international challenges, the Center will support and collaborate with the public and private sectors in forging practical solutions to challenges and opportunities in Africa.

Young Atlanticist

Launched at the 2008 NATO Summit in Bucharest, the Young Atlanticist Network brings together a community of emerging leaders who share a vision of closer Euro-Atlantic cooperation based on common values. Through online tools and regular events, the Young Atlanticist Network serves as a forum for open dialogue between young Atlanticists so they can exchange their views on a range of international issues. As a meeting place, the Network serves as a stage for global leaders to address the next generation and to share the perspective on current issues. Members of the Young Atlanticist Network enjoy opportunities to connect with other young professionals who share common professional interests.

Global Business and Economics

The Global Business and Economics Program works to build upon and strengthen the already deep economic integration between Europe and the United States as well as promote transatlantic leadership in the global economy. Bringing together top business leaders, government policy makers, and economic experts, the program explores transatlantic and global issues of importance to the US and European business community. Our aim is to identify areas for cooperation as well as convergence in policy in an effort to promote an open and mutually beneficial environment for transatlantic business and trade.

Energy and Environment

The Energy and Environment Program explores the economic and political aspects of energy security and supply, as well as international environmental issues. It promotes open access and clean air and offers policy recommendations to meet developing countries’ needs through the increased flow of capital, technology, and know-how in the energy and water supply sectors.

Transatlantic Relations

The Program on Transatlantic Relations promotes dialogue on major issues affecting the transatlantic partnership and the ability of the United States and Europe to respond to global challenges, particularly as the European Union becomes an influential player on the global stage. The program develops recommendations for greater transatlantic cooperation in several areas.
