Roadmap for Ukraine

On Tuesday, July 22nd, the Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center hosted a public forum on the Atlantic Council’s latest report, A Roadmap for Ukraine. The panelists included the Hon. John Herbst, Director of the Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center at the Atlantic Council; Mr. David Koranyi, Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center Deputy Director; and Ms. Irena Chalupa, an Editor at the Atlantic Council. The event was introduced by former Under Secretary of State for Global and International Affairs and Senior Fellow at Harvard University’s JFK Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, Paula Dobriansky, and moderated by Atlantic Council Vice President Damon Wilson.

The participants discussed the fragile situation in Ukraine and the Kremlin’s relentless push against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. The conversation highlighted various tactics to restore order to the East. The speakers discussed their recommendations to the Ukrainian government, which included energy reforms, media reforms, and the dismantling of corruption. Damon Wilson and Ambassador Herbst also reported on their recent trip to Kyiv, underscoring Ukrainians’ determination to regain the country on their own, regardless of Western assistance. It was made clear that stability in Ukraine is necessary to ensure the security of both the country and continent.
