The Program on International Security hosted the second of three workshops to assess how the new NATO Strategic Concept and other initiatives launched at the Lisbon summit will impact the future of the United States European Command (USEUCOM).

The Program on International Security, working in partnership with the National Defense University, assembled a series of experts, Embassy officials, and U.S. government officials to discuss this matter. Senior civilian and military leaders from EUCOM briefed participants on the taskings that were assigned at the Lisbon summit and offered their view of how they would impact EUCOM’s missions and tasks. Following a final meeting in February, select members of the project will draft analytical papers assessing EUCOM’s future activities.
