The Atlantic Council and the Centre for International Governance Innovation will have the pleasure to host a conversation with Ms. Valeria O. Gontareva, governor of the National Bank of Ukraine and a distinguished panel of leading experts to discuss Ukraine’s ongoing banking reforms. Ms. Valeria O. Gontareva has been the leading figure behind reforms in the Ukrainian banking sector. Since taking her post four months after the Maidan protests, Gontareva has closed 87 ailing banks and nationalized the country’s biggest lender, PrivatBank. 

Ms. Gontareva and our distinguished panelists will focus of reforms of the banking sector, but will also share their insights on the current situation in Ukraine and address the impact of the continuing Donbas conflict on the country’s economic and political future.
