Launched in March 2016 under the chairmanship of Bilal Y. Saab, senior fellow and director of the Middle East Peace and Security Initiative (MEPSI), the Gulf Policy Working Group (GPWG) in the Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security’s Middle East Peace and Security Initiative seeks to address the most critical and complex strategic challenges facing the United States and its Arab Gulf partners – Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

With a select membership comprising renowned thought leaders and practitioners from both the United States and the Arab Gulf region, GPWG is a nonpartisan Washington platform for credible, impactful, and constructive debate on US-Arab Gulf affairs. GPWG will convene on a quarterly basis and will host distinguished guests from the public policy and expert communities of the United States and the Arab Gulf region to speak on issues pertaining to security, defense, politics, energy, science and technology, and economic trends.
