Politico quotes Cyber Statecraft Initiative Director Jason Healey on new sanctions imposed on North Korea:

Experts say that while the sanctions may not have an immediate impact, they are an important step by the U.S.

“In general, I think the administration’s response has been pretty good,” said Atlantic Council expert and former White House cyber official Jason Healey. “They’ve said more is to come, that it’ll be proportional. We didn’t have a lot of good cards to play, and they’re playing their hand relatively well.”

Healey said the administration is smart to make the issue less about the cyberattack itself, and more about the problem of North Korea generally by sanctioning individuals tied to the government as opposed to the attack.
