Anadolu Agency’s Energy News Terminal quotes Brent Scowcroft Center Senior Fellow Robert Manning on the crisis in Yemen and how it could affect oil prices:

“I would be surprised if prices went up a lot further,” said Robert A. Manning, resident senior fellow of the Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security at the U.S.-based Atlantic Council.

“Unless there is a dramatic escalation of the conflict, and there are attacks on Saudi oil facilities, I don’t see a great risk to Saudi Arabia,” he explained. 

Manning underlined that there are large surplus reserves in the global oil market, adding “it seems that in terms of market forces, there is not a high probability of larger threats to energy security.”
