Eurasian Energy Futures Initiativev Nonresident Senior Fellow Micha’el Tanchum is quoted in Anadolu Agency on Russia’s bbid to secure new markets across the Middle East and North Africa:
“This is an important gain for Russia both in its Middle East diplomacy and in its effort to promote its exports of civilian nuclear technology,” said Micha’el Tanchum, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Eurasian Energy Futures Initiative.
According to Tanchum, Moscow has the second largest number of reactors under construction in the world, and is itself the world’s third-largest generator of nuclear power.
“Expanding Russia’s global market share in nuclear reactor construction is a policy priority for Moscow,” he said.
