Launched in October 2013, the Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center is expanding awareness of the new Latin America across diverse communities of influence by positioning the region as a core partner in the transatlantic community.

We inject new ideas and innovative policy recommendations that highlight Latin America as a strategic and economic partner for the transatlantic community and beyond. In doing so, a policy dialogue is created that projects Latin America's agenda toward the United States and Europe. A top priority is to inform and convene non-traditional policymakers, business leaders, civil society pioneers, and media to branch out the community of influencers engaged with the region. Rather than focus on Latin America in a silo, the Center contextualizes what the region's transformations mean on a global scale.

Our work is motivated by three dominant trends: Latin America is on the rise at a time of great global uncertainty; US and European foreign policy lacks money and bandwidth, making it critical to engage with stakeholders beyond the capitals; and our relations must move beyond the narrow scope of issues such as drugs and violence that long dominated the agenda. With this in mind, we provide US and global influencers with a roadmap for regional engagement that provides forward-looking analysis and challenges conventional wisdom.
