Wang Junsheng is currently a visiting senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security.
He is the director and associate professor of the Department of China’s Regional Strategy, National Institute of International Strategy at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Prof. Wang is also the deputy director general (nonresident) of the International Liaison Bureau of the Central Committee of Chinese Communist Youth League.
His research interests include China’s diplomacy, Northeast Asia security, and Korean Peninsular security. He has published several books and many journal articles, some of which are listed below. Prof. Wang also published Chinese translations of several books.
Prof. Wang has been invited to speak at international conferences in the US, South Korea, Japan, North Korea, Myanmar, Indonesia. He was a visiting scholar at the ASAN Institute for Policy Studies (ASAN) in South Korea (Jan 2016-Mar 2016), the Institute for Unification Education in South Korea (Jul 2014-Aug 2014), Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) in Hawaii, USA (Apr 2012-May 2012), and School of International Services, American University in Washington, DC (Jul 2007-Jul 2008).
Professor Wang provides regular commentary for major media outlets, including Xinhua News agency, China Daily, Global Times, Phoenix TV, China Central Television, and so on.
He received his PhD and MA in international affairs from School of International Studies at Renmin (People’s) University in China.
