As the global community continues to grapple with the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Atlantic Council is open for business. Our business, meetings, and events, however, are occurring virtually. For more information, please read an update from our President and CEO.

Please join the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center and Transatlantic Security Initiative for a virtual private roundtable on hybrid energy warfare and NATO on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Dr. Arnold C. Dupuy, Ph.D., senior policy analyst at SAIC, will make opening remarks and describe the new study “Energy Security in the Era of Hybrid Warfare,” which he and Dr. Daniel Nussbaum of the Naval Postgraduate School’s Energy Academic Group are leading for the NATO Science and Technology Organization’s, “Systems Analysis and Studies (SAS) 163.”

Dr. Dupuy’s remarks will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Ambassador Richard Morningstar, founding chairman of the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center. COL Romualdas ‘Romas’ Petkevicius, director of the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence; Professor Brenda Shaffer, senior fellow at the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center; and Dr. Michael Ruhle, head of the Hybrid Challenges and Energy Security section of the Emerging Security Challenges division at NATO will assess the status of European operational energy security, critical energy infrastructure, and the transatlantic energy security strategy within the context of the hybrid warfare threat.
