As the global community continues to grapple with the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Atlantic Council is open for business. Our business, meetings, and events, however, are occurring virtually. For more information, please read an update from our President and CEO.

COVID-19 has been a global tragedy, causing death and significant financial distress in economic powerhouses and developing countries alike. The reshuffling of priorities needed to combat the pandemic has also cast new light on long-running conflicts, particularly in the Middle East. UN Under-Secretary General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary A. DiCarlo discussed the potential new openings to advance peace in the region.

The discussion was held via Zoom on May 20, 2020 from 10:00 -11:00 am. A link to the meeting was sent to those who registered to attend. The event was open to press and on-the-record.
