Experts Discuss Feasibility of Expanding NATO’s Global Partnerships

On March 20, 2013, the Atlantic Council held an event to launch the newest report by Atlantic Council Distinguished Fellow Franklin D. Kramer entitled “NATO Global Partnerships: Strategic Opportunities and Imperatives in a Globalized World.”

Mr. Kramer opened the event by quickly summarizing his findings and conclusions before turning it over to the panel including Damon Wilson, executive vice president of the Atlantic Council, Ambassador Mohamed Bin Abdulla Al-Rumaihi of the State of Qatar, Ambassador Peter Taskøe-Jensen of Denmark, and moderator Barry Pavel, director of the Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security at the Atlantic Council. All three panelists provided different and unique insights ranging from appreciation for NATO’s current partnership strategy to lamentations over whether or not it would work.
