On August 29, the Atlantic Council’s EuroGrowth Initiative, together with the Center for European Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill held a discussion on the future of infrastructure in the US, drawing comparisons from the EU.

Congressman David Price was the keynote speaker, followed by a discussion with Thomas McLoughlin (Managing Director, UBS), Carlota Cenalmor (Deputy representative to the US, EIB), and Michael Whalen (U.S. Department of Transportation). Congressman Price stated that there is a “lack of political will, political consensus, and political determination to deploy funds.” He cited the federal motor fuel tax, which has not been adjusted for 25 years.
