Mani Shankar Aiyar is a member of parliament, Rajya Sabha, who was previously elected three times to the Lok Sabha, and was conferred the Outstanding Parliamentarian Award in 2006 by the president of India. He has also been a cabinet minister (2004-2009). He writes regularly for domestic and foreign newspapers and journals, and frequently appears on TV news shows, including ‘Politically Incorrect’. He is the author of six books, including Pakistan Papers and Confessions of a Secular Fundamentalist, and editor of the four-volume Rajiv Gandhi’s India.
