Since 9/11, the homeland has remained relatively secure. However, evolving threats have begun to emanate from distinct corners of the world. For example, the Islamic State, al-Qaeda, and other terrorist groups have shown a real ability to inspire attacks, some in the United States. State actors, such as North Korea, threaten the use of nuclear weapons against US allies and American territory. In an increasingly complex and interconnected world, how can the United States protect itself against enduring threats to the homeland? During this event, NORAD and US Northern Command's ADM William Gortney will discuss security challenges facing his commands and the US homeland.
