Sean Macrae is an Investment Associate at Bridgewater Associates. He co-leads Bridgewater’s Currency investment research, helping build and oversee systematic investment strategies responsible for the firm’s currency views in the developed and emerging world. Macrae also co-manages Bridgewater’s research department, overseeing talent development for the 150 investment professionals at the core of Bridgewater’s investment strategies. Macrae leads Bridgewater’s nine-month intensive first year investment development program, focused on training new hires in the core macroeconomic fundamentals and linkages and asset classes Bridgewater trades.

Prior to his current role, Macrae directed Bridgewater’s China research, working closely with Bridgewater’s CIOs to understand China’s growing role on the global financial and economic landscape and provide insight on investing in China to Bridgewater’s clients. He is a Council on Foreign Relations Corporate Leader. Sean grew up in Fall City, Washington and graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College with a major in Economics and minor in Japanese.
