Financial Times quotes Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center Nonresident Senior Fellow Matthew Bryza on Turkey and Israel's agreement to repair their bilateral relationship and what this means in terms of an economic partnership:

The two countries would exchange ambassadors, and all legal claims against Israel would be dropped. They also agreed to open talks on laying an undersea gas pipeline from Israel’s Leviathan offshore gas field to Turkey.

“Erdogan is sending a political signal in the form of a economic partnership with Israel to blunt any fears that Russia could cut off the gas supply,” said Matthew Bryza, a member of the board at Turcas Petrol, a Turkish energy company.
