The Washington Times quotes Brent Scowcroft Center Resident Senior Fellow Robert A. Manning on the United States and India joining forces to counter Chinese aggression in the South China Sea:

“I think what the US is doing if you look carefully with the defense guidelines with Japan, Vietnam and elsewhere, is we are putting together a loose coalition of allies and security partners that includes India, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia and so on,” said Robert Manning, a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council. “What we’re doing in India is kind of a piece of that counterbalancing strategy.”
