WASHINGTON, DC – Former Ukrainian Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko has joined the Atlantic Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center as a distinguished fellow. Minister Jaresko will focus on strengthening Ukraine’s economy and investment competitiveness.

“Minister Jaresko served as minister of finance of Ukraine during the most critical time for Ukraine’s economic stability,” said Director of the Atlantic Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center Ambassador John E. Herbst, a former US ambassador to Ukraine. “Her extensive experience in finance and governance in Ukraine will no doubt inform our work moving forward.”

Minister Jaresko served as Ukraine’s minister of finance from December 2014 to April 2016. Currently, she is chairperson of the Aspen Institute Kyiv Board of Trustees and a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council. Prior to joining the Ministry of Finance, she was one of the co-founders and chief executive officer of Horizon Capital, a regional private equity firm with some $600 million under management. Simultaneously, Minister Jaresko served as president and chief executive officer of Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) from 2001 to 2014, having joined WNISEF in 1995. Minister Jaresko served as the chief of the economic section of the US Embassy in Ukraine from 1992 to 1995, and in various economic positions at the US State Department in Washington, DC from 1989 to 1992.
