Building our future, today + slideshow
Dear Atlantic Council Community,
We live at a historic inflection point, as crucial as the periods after World War I, World War II, and the Cold War, where US leadership alongside allies and partners will have generational consequences.
At the core of this historic relationship between the United States and our global partners sits the Atlantic Council, which for the last six decades has embodied and advanced the solutions-oriented, non-partisan ethos that has sustained peace and prosperity in our global community through the post-War period.
In doing so, the Atlantic Council has rapidly transformed from a small organization of four programs and a dozen staff into a truly global organization with 16 programs and more than 300 full-time staff who embody the very best of the organization.
Despite this growth, the challenges before us – including Putin’s war in Ukraine, global economic slowdown, and the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic – have never been greater.
This inflection point in the Atlantic Council’s history requires us to consider how our physical place in the world allows us to meet this historic moment before us today.
In that spirit, we are delighted to announce the new Atlantic Council Global Headquarters at 1400 L Street NW in downtown Washington, D.C. This move will transform not just our physical location, it will prominently convey who we are as a dynamic, diverse, and collaborative organization for years to come.
While our address and the building itself won’t exclusively define who we are, our Global Headquarters tells a powerful story for the world of an Atlantic Council on the rise, equipped with a world-class space and capabilities primed to share the future, together, with each of you.
Against that backdrop, our Global Headquarters will become a powerful new platform from which we project the Atlantic Council mission globally. Our global community has been at the core of our success over the last 15 years, and we look forward to welcoming you to the new Atlantic Council Global Headquarters in August 2024.
Onward and upward,
