The Atlantic Council and its staff, fellows, and directors generate their own ideas and programing, consistent with the Council’s mission, their related body of work, and the independent records of the participating team members. The Council as an organization does not adopt or advocate positions on particular matters. The Council’s publications always represent the views of the author(s) rather than those of the institution.

The Atlantic Council enjoys a diversified donor base helping to ensure our credibility and integrity. As we grow, we increasingly are engaging governments which are interested in supporting programming at the Council. To protect our independence and reputation, we have established a process to obtain authorization to negotiate financing with a government or state-controlled entity.

The Atlantic Council accepts funds from a broad range of sources provided they are for purposes that are in keeping with its mission. These contributions may be payable on an annual basis or over a period of time, or be given as in-kind goods or services. The Atlantic Council is grateful for the contributions it receives, which provides critical support that makes the Council’s work possible.

The Atlantic Council is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization whose staff must observe high standards of personal and professional integrity, candor, and honesty in communications and interactions with one another, our directors, our supporters, other organizations, government officials, the media, and the public.
