The authors outline specific policy recommendations to contain and eliminate threats in the region, and to support the empowerment of individuals, building democratic institutions, and prosperity.
The issue brief was launched at the March 13 event, “A Strategy for US Engagement in the Middle East: Contain Threats, Embrace Dignity,” prior to Obama’s trip to Israel, the West Bank, and Jordan, and on the heels of Secretary of State John Kerry’s nine-country tour of Europe and the Middle East.
