Taylor R. Smith is the assistant director of the Atlantic Council’s Millennium Leadership Program. In this role, she assists with program management and operational support for the Millennium Fellowship, the Young Global Professionals Program, and the Climate Leadership Program. Prior to joining the Council, Smith was a fellow on the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals in Germany, studying European integration and working on US-German relations with the Checkpoint Charlie Foundation in Berlin. 

Smith previously served as a program associate and, later, as operations manager at Meridian International Center, facilitating programming and grant management for the State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program. She has experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion consulting for various institutions and is passionate about public diplomacy and intercultural communications. Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies from American University, with concentrations in identity, race, gender, and culture, as well as peace and security studies.
