Winnie Zheng is the program assistant with the Transatlantic Project at the Atlantic Council’s Rafik Hariri Center and Middle East programs. Previously, she was a young global professional with the Middle East programs. 

Before joining the Atlantic Council, Zheng interned at the International Rescue Committee on the anti-trafficking team, the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan, and EMILY’s List, which rounded out her interests in gender, migration, and security. She previously was the chief operating officer of Leading Women of Tomorrow, an organization dedicated to closing the gender parity gap in public service. She now sits on the advisory board. 

Zheng graduated from George Washington University, where she studied international affairs with a concentration in gender in international affairs, as well as an Arabic minor. She is a native Mandarin speaker.
