Please join the Atlantic Council’s Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security for a Commanders Series event with General Philip M. Breedlove, supreme allied commander, Europe and commander, US European Command, to discuss the deliverables of the 2014 NATO Summit in Wales and the path forward for the Alliance.

In an opinion piece coauthored with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, General Breedlove commented that, at the summit, the Alliance “will take the steps needed to make NATO fitter, faster, and more flexible to address future challenges.” As Russia and Ukraine continue to battle in Eastern Europe and conflict roils near the Alliance’s eastern and southern flanks, NATO must develop new ways to effectively navigate this era of global competition . To outline how NATO might do so, and also to report on the Alliance’s decisions in Wales, General Breedlove will give a major public address at the Council and provide the first details regarding NATO’s future to our audience.
