The Atlantic Council is pleased to welcome Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on July 8 at 10:00 a.m. for the first of a series of events on “America’s Role in the World.” Senator Graham will discuss rising global security threats, including Iranian nuclear ambitions and the spread of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIL).

Senator Graham, who announced his 2016 presidential campaign earlier this month, will explain why strong US leadership and comprehensive strategies, which include military and diplomatic options, are needed to tackle radical extremist ambitions in the Middle East and beyond.

This speaker’s series is part of the Atlantic Council’s Strategy Initiative led by the Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security.  This Strategy Initiative seeks to encourage and support a more constructive and substantive public dialogue on US strategy in a complex and dynamic global context. As part of this series, the Atlantic Council will invite all US presidential candidates to speak on foreign policy and national security.

This event is on the record and open for press coverage. Please email press@AtlanticCouncil.org to RSVP or visit the event webpage for more information.
