NATO has announced that the “discussion on the new Strategic Concept of NATO is entering a more intensive phase. On 16th October, 2009 a high level seminar addressing fundamental security tasks of the Alliance will take place in Luxembourg.”

The seminar will be led by Madeleine Albright and hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg. According to the program for the seminar, the speakers will be
Jean Asselborn, Claudio Bisogniero, Bruno Racine, Karl Kaiser, Rupert Smith, Adam Rotfeld, Espen Barth Eide, Stefan Fule, Rob de Wijk, Jeroen Van der Veer, Geoff Hoon, Pauline Neville-Jones, Camille Grand, Hans-Friedrich von Ploetz, Giancarlo Aragona, Ümit Pamir, Karl-Heinz Kamp, and Jean-Marie Halsdorf. The seminar will discuss “such themes as a changing security environment, core tasks of NATO, the Alliance’s political role and its strategy in the 21st century.” (graphic: NATO)
