Felipe Félix Méndez is an assistant director at the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center. His work focuses on relations between the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean and their top three partners outside the region: the United States, the European Union, and China.

During his time at the Atlantic Council, Félix Méndez coauthored the report “Galvanizing Spain’s presidency for the next chapter: Multilateralism, green transition, and digital transformation” and played a pivotal role in the consultation and research process for the strategy paper “Redefining US strategy with Latin America and the Caribbean for a new era.” His commentary on international relations and development issues has appeared in outlets including El Nacional and La Prensa.

Prior to joining the Atlantic Council, Félix Méndez interned at the Permanent Mission of Panama to the United Nations in New York and advised the Wall Street Journal and Panasonic.

Félix Méndez holds a bachelor’s degree from Brown University in international and public affairs and Latin American and Caribbean studies, with honors. Originally from Panama and Uruguay, Félix Méndez is a native Spanish speaker, fluent in English, and proficient in Portuguese.
