From AFP:  Cyprus said on Monday it aims to join NATO’s Partnership for Peace rather than remain the only EU country which does not have a cooperation programme with the Western military alliance.

Defence Minister Photis Photiou, who met with the EU’s most senior military officer, General Patrick de Rousiers, said the island’s geo-strategic and geopolitical position contributed to the EU defence system.  (photo: onlycy)
