On Thursday, June 25 at 10:00 a.m. ET (9:00 a.m. PET), the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center will host a virtual conversation examining the challenges and opportunities facing Peru’s next government.
As the final votes are being counted in this month’s election, Peru is entering a new political chapter at a pivotal moment for the country and the region. A new administration will inherit a country of growing geopolitical importance, but also one grappling with the consequences of a decade of political instability. Home to vast reserves of critical minerals and increasingly central to regional supply chains, Peru has become an important partner for the United States and a key player in the Western Hemisphere.
What could the result mean for Peru’s economic outlook, investment climate, and role in the region? And how can the next administration capitalize on Peru’s opportunities while addressing its governance challenges? Leading experts and policymakers will address these questions and more.
