Since the fourth anniversary of January 25 uprising, Egypt has seen an uptick in terror attacks. According to Daily News Egypt, over 1,000 violent incidents took place in the first quarter of 2015, claiming the lives of at least 174 Egyptians and leaving more than 600 injured. In addition to attacks targeting security personnel, an increase in attacks on infrastructure and government buildings, have become a near daily occurrence. The electricity ministry announced that 778 attacks have been carried out on electricity-related infrastructure during that same period. The attacks have caused power outages and have cost the ministry millions of pounds.
