From RIA Novosti:  Abkhazian vice president Alexander Ankvab was injured when his house came under grenade launcher attack early on Thursday, Abkhazian first deputy interior minister Ramin Gablaya told RIA Novosti.

Ankvab received fragmentation injuries to his arm and leg, Gablaya said without giving any further details. …

This is the fourth assassination attempt on Ankvab in the past five years.

From Reuters:  The vice president of the breakaway Georgian region of Abkhazia was wounded in a mortar attack on his house overnight, officials said on Thursday.

Vice President Alexander Ankvab suffered shrapnel wounds when his home in Gudauta was attacked early on Thursday morning, Abkhazia’s Prosecutor General Safar Mikanba said in comments broadcast on Russia’s Rossiya-24 news channel.
