Pakistan’s national elections on July 25th signify just the second transition of power between civilian governments in the country’s history, and will likely serve as a referendum for the incumbent Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz under former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Results from these elections will play a central role in influencing Pakistan’s domestic politics, the influence of the military in determining foreign policy, and future involvement with neighboring Afghanistan and India.
The discussion will be held July 25, 2018 from 12:00-1:30 pm at the Atlantic Council. The event is open to press and on the record.
