The Atlantic Council’s GeoEconomics Center, in partnership with the South Asia Center and the Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East, is delighted to host a special event with the Afghanistan’s former Central Bank Governor, Ajmal Ahmady, on Friday, September 10, 9:00  a.m. – 9:45 a.m. (ET).

Ahmady’s description of the fall of Kabul and the financial situation the Taliban inherited have received worldwide attention over the past two weeks. As the United States and international financial institutions debate sanctions and unfreezing billions in assets, Ahmady will share his views on the current economic crisis in Afghanistan, the new leadership in Kabul, and the best way forward to help the Afghan people.
