International media coverage of “fake news” in the 2016 US presidential election has dramatically increased international attention on the role of digital disinformation in elections. While attention has focused on the influence of Russia’s propaganda efforts in the US and Europe, the problem is much broader. Disinformation is a global challenge that will require new coalitions, tools, and strategies to address it.
#DisinfoWeek is a week long set of strategic dialogues on how to collectively address the global challenge of disinformation. The conference will convene both US and European policymakers, tech companies, civil society, and members of think tanks, academia, and media.
