On Tuesday, September 22 at 11:00 a.m. ET, the Atlantic Council hosts a discussion with Calvin Butler, president and CEO of Exelon, to explore how AI development is reshaping the power grid, the key policy tools that can accelerate the buildout of the energy system, and the mutually reinforcing relationship between AI and the energy system.
The rapid addition of AI-driven energy load is exacerbating existing grid challenges, but it is also creating an opportunity to attract investment, form unique cross-sector partnerships, expand and modernize grid infrastructure, lower electricity rates, and increase overall system efficiency.
This conversation will highlight the importance of collaboration among utilities, regulators, energy companies, hyperscalers, and policymakers to build affordable, reliable, and secure energy systems while advancing US AI leadership.
