The GeoTech Center hosts an event to launch the Atlantic Council Commission on AI and US competitiveness, which presents an action-oriented roadmap for strengthening US domestic AI capacity,

On Monday, June 1, at 2:30 p.m. ET, the Atlantic Council will launch the flagship report of the Atlantic Council Commission on Artificial Intelligence and US competitiveness, a GeoTech Center initiative.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is now a defining force in economic power, national security, and global influence. The question is no longer whether AI will reshape the international order, but whether the United States and its allies will lead what comes next. Authoritarian states are using AI to consolidate domestic control and extend influence abroad, while recent frontier model developments, particularly in cybersecurity, underscore why the United States maintain the lead in capability development. The commission’s work focuses on the core systems that will determine that outcome: innovation, energy infrastructure, resilient supply chains, talent and institutions, government adoption and oversight, and allied and partner engagement.

This event will unveil the commission’s findings and recommendations, bringing together government leaders, industry executives, and policy experts for a timely discussion on how the United States can secure its AI advantage. With commissioners drawn from across the AI ecosystem, including companies representing roughly a quarter of the US stock market, the report offers an action-oriented roadmap for strengthening US domestic AI capacity, aligning with allies, and sustaining global leadership. A reception will follow.

New policy: In-person attendees will be required to show photo ID upon arrival, and no on-site registration will be permitted. Guests will not be admitted later than twenty minutes after the event’s start time.
