Government officials and development leaders from the US and Latin America discuss how to protect the critical infrastructure that connects the regions.

On Wednesday, November 18, at 2:00 p.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center, in partnership with CAF Development Bank, will host a high-level forum on protecting critical infrastructure and strategic assets in the Americas.

Protecting ports, energy grids, telecommunications, and digital networks against physical and cyber threats is increasingly important to economic competitiveness and regional stability in the Americas. Doing so requires stronger coordination among governments, financial institutions, and the private sector to strengthen infrastructure security, reliability, and resilience.

The conversation will bring together policymakers, security practitioners, financial institutions, and private-sector leaders. They will examine practical steps to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, strengthen public-private coordination, and mobilize investment to protect essential infrastructure against emerging threats.

A reception will follow the discussion.

New policy: In-person attendees will be required to show photo ID upon arrival, and no on-site registration will be permitted. Guests will not be admitted later than twenty minutes after the event’s start time.

By registering to attend in-person, you agree to abide by the Atlantic Council’s Event Code of Conduct.
