Please join the Atlantic Council and the Charles Koch Institute for a debate on whether the US should provide Ukraine with lethal weapons.
While no decision has yet been taken, Secretary of Defense James Mattis said in Kyiv that “Defensive weapons are not provocative unless you are an aggressor, and clearly Ukraine is not an aggressor, since it is their own territory where the fighting is happening.” Yet there are several voices that believe that arming Ukraine will drive the US into a proxy war with Russia or otherwise undermine US interests. This debate will aim to explore these arguments.
We hope you can join us for this timely discussion.
