United States Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will speak at the Atlantic Council at 10:00 AM ET on April 13th, 2022 on the way forward for the global economy in the wake of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine. Secretary Yellen will deliver this important speech one week before the world’s finance ministers and central bank governors convene in Washington for the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings.

The global economy is facing significant headwinds in 2022 and U.S. leadership remains vital for the stability of the international financial system. On sanctions and beyond, international cooperation has never been more critical. Secretary Yellen will share the Biden Administration’s plan to build a more resilient and inclusive U.S. and global economy in the years ahead. Following her speech, Secretary Yellen will participate in a conversation with Financial Times global business columnist and associate editor Rana Foroohar.
