The Emerging Leaders of Pakistan project seeks to support and empower the next generation of Pakistan’s leaders. This year’s fifteen fellows have been selected from a large group of applicants based on their demonstrated leadership abilities. All of these young leaders are working at the grassroots level to better their community and country through social and economic development, empowering youth, and giving a voice to women and minorities. Given the youth bulge in Pakistan, it is important to both give these young leaders a voice and the skills they need to effectively tackle Pakistan’s challenges. Their three-week visit to the United States will bring them into contact with political, business, and social leaders and institutions.

We invite the DC community to meet our 2013 fellows and join us for a discussion on youth in Pakistan, the issues they face, and their role in creating a stronger civil society.

The Emerging Leaders of Pakistan project is generously supported by the Carnegie Corporation of New York. US travel, logistics, and programmatic support for the Fellows is provided by the Community Engagement Program of the US Embassy in Islamabad, through its partnership with the Meridian International Center.
