Please join the Atlantic Council on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for a discussion with Her Excellency Florence Parly, Minister of the Armed Forces of the French Republic on “The US-French Defense Relationship in a Changing World.” The event will be held at Atlantic Council Headquarters (1030 15th Street NW, 12th Floor, Washington, DC 20005). 

H.E. Florence Parly is a dedicated civil servant who has served in her position as Minister of the Armed Forces since 2017. In her role, she oversees crucial aspects of funding, procurement, and operations of the Armed Forces of France. She has wide-ranging experience in public service, as she previously served as the Advisor on Budgetary Affairs and as the head of a variety of departments within the French government, such as the Head of the Social Protection and Social Security Offices; Equipment, Housing, City, and Territorial Planning; Culture and Audiovisual; and finally, the Budget Directorate.

Minister Parly will provide an overview of the current US-French Defense relationship, its challenges, and potential areas for deeper cooperation. Her opening comments will be followed by a moderated discussion and an open Q&A.
