Brian Menell is a member of the advisory council at the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center. He is the founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of TechMet Limited, a private critical minerals investment company with assets that produce, process, and recycle metals essential to twenty-first-century technology.

TechMet’s portfolio spans North America, South America, Europe, and Africa, including lithium extraction, nickel and cobalt hydroxide production, vanadium chemical production, rare earth production and processing, tin and tungsten mining, lithium-ion battery recycling, and high-performance cathode manufacturing. Menell also serves as chairman of TechMet USA and director of several TechMet investee companies, including Trinity Metals Ltd., US Vanadium LLC, Brazilian Nickel Ltd., and TechMet SCM SA. TechMet’s major shareholders include the US government through the US International Development Finance Corporation, the Qatar Investment Authority, and Mercuria.

Menell holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in political science and economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
