Christopher Hunter was a nonresident senior fellow in the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, Foresight, Strategy, and Risks Initiative. He has over two decades of diversified experience in business, law, government, politics, public policy, and education, across industries and sectors.
Mr. Hunter served as a senior federal prosecutor with the United States Department of Justice, Criminal Division, Fraud Section, an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Florida, and a Special Agent with the FBI. He led successful investigations and prosecutions of complex fraud schemes and transnational crime, worked in national security programs, and received numerous awards for his service.
Mr. Hunter presently is Managing Director and Chief Legal Officer for a national family office firm. He previously has been a business unit leader for a Fortune 500 health insurance company, an advisor for a global financial services corporation, and counselor to companies and executives.
Mr. Hunter has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Stetson University College of Law where he taught Trial Advocacy and Environmental Practice, and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tampa where he taught International Environmental Politics and Policy and Law and Society. He also has extensive experience with political campaigns.
He earned his BA from Boston College and JD from Boston College Law School where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Boston College Environmental Affairs Law Review.
