
Haben Fecadu

Haben Fecadu is a 2026–27 Millennium fellow and an attorney with extensive justice experience in East Africa. She is the former deputy chief of party for the American Bar Association’s Expanding Access to Justice Program, which aimed at enhancing justice delivery and strengthening legal aid options in Somalia. After receiving her JD from Columbia Law School, Fecadu was a global litigation fellow at the Open Society Justice Initiative, where she assisted with legal research and filings at international tribunals around the world. She subsequently joined Amnesty International’s International Secretariat, where she led the organization’s advocacy on the Horn of Africa. Fecadu is licensed to practice law in New York and has working knowledge of French and Tigrinya, in addition to basic knowledge of Arabic. She currently resides between Nairobi, Kenya, and Los Angeles, California.
