Iveta Kruma is the director of Global Events in the Office of External Relations. Prior joining the Atlantic Council she held the position of Program Officer at the Brussels office of The German Marshall Fund of the US (GMF), where she was a key part of the team that organized and produced the annual Brussels Forum, Bucharest Conference, Halifax International Security Forum and Atlantic Dialogues. She was also managing and developing smaller scale events and projects on the Black Sea region and post-Soviet countries. Prior to her tenure at GMF, Iveta worked for the Latvian Transatlantic Organization, Embassy of Switzerland, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in her native Latvia. Iveta holds a BA in international relations and political science from Riga Stradins University, faculty of European studies. Overall, Iveta has 13 years of experience in producing and organizing large, medium and small scale events in over 18 different countries around the world and she is fluent in English, “near” fluent in German and Russian, conversant in Norwegian and basic understanding in French and Portuguese, with her native language Latvian.
