Jasper Camacho is a 2021-2022 Veterans Advanced Energy fellow at the Atlantic Council and an energy industry executive who has invested and managed over three billion dollars in sector-related investments throughout the world. He recently joined Bechtel’s infrastructure business unit where he leads business development throughout Asia with a focus on renewable and clean energy as well as transport (airports and rail), water, civil, digital, and future-cities infrastructure.
Prior to working at Bechtel, Camacho was the managing partner of Marius International, an investment and mergers and acquisitions advisory firm focused on energy and infrastructure opportunities where he advised a number of Fortune 100 firms on their investment and partnership strategies. He has also served in various commercial and investment management roles for companies such as AES, E.ON (now Uniper), Trafigura, and TXU Energy. At Trafigura, he executed an investment that was a finalist for S&P Platts Global Energy Awards’ Strategic Deal of the Year.
Camacho enlisted in the US Army as a private and completed his service in the US Army Reserves as captain. He was commissioned as an officer through the US Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program as a distinguished military graduate. He earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in economics from Texas A&M University.
